Sweet & Spicy Shrimps


½ -1 Tbsp. Oil
1 Lb. Shrimps


½ cup Soy Sauce {light}
½ Tbs. Mirin
½-1 tbs. Sugar
2 scallions minced + 1 for garnish
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbs. Ginger, finely minced
1 tsp. dried red pepper flakes
1 Tbs. toasted sesame seeds
½ tsp. Sesame Oil
1 Tbs. Corn starch or flour


3 Tbs. Marinade
½ Tbs. Gochujang (Korean Red Hot Chili paste)


Green Onions, chopped
Toasted Sesame seeds



Combine all the ingredients for marinade and set aside.

In a large plastic bag for storage, place already cleaned fresh shrimps. Pour the marinade in the bag, shake few times and let the shrimps marinade for 15-20 minutes.

Pan sear or grill, turning and basting few times with marinade, for 5-7 minutes.

*For meat option cook until meat is well cooked (15-20 minutes)

Serve with salad, over rice, pasta, potatoes etc.

For the glaze:

In the pan where you cooked shrimps, add 2-3 Tbs. marinade and gochujang OR put about ½ tsp. oil, 2-3 Tbs. marinade and gochujang (Red hot chili paste)

Stir until thicken and almost caramelized.

Brush shrimps all over or just use as a dip.
