1. Deodorants and room freshener
Room fresheners contain napthelene and formaldehyde ingredients which are not good for lungs. They may remove the smell from your room or bodies but they are hazardous as they can cause cancer. We should go for natural fragrances to avoid the odour.
2. Non-stick cookware
Non-stick cookware like pans, cookers, pots and other households contain POFA which is responsible for causing cancer. Chemicals get into food as you cook once the surface gets scratched. Also these products should not be used to cook over 300 degrees.
3. Processed meat
Preservatives are added to processed meat in order to make them fresh and appealing. These preservatives contain sodium nitrate which is a cancer causing element. So choose your meat wisely which is fresh and no added preservatives.
4. Microwave popcorn
Microwave popcorn packets contain chemicals which lead to cause inability, liver and pancreatic cancer. This chemical may damage your lungs also. So always avoid microwave popcorn packs.
5. Plastic
Plastic contains phthalates, DEHA and BPA which are quite risky for our health as they may cause cancer. Plastic water bottles and bags should be avoided to save you from cancer and also to keep the environment clean and healthy.
6. Conventional apples, strawberries and dry fruits
Having conventional fruits and dry fruits does not mean that you are eating healthy. Mostly conventional fruits and dry fruits contain pesticides which are harmful to us and may cause cancer.
7. Scented candles
Mostly people keep scented candles in their rooms for their fragrances. These artificial scented candles produce a combustion by-product which includes soot. It’s better to avoid such artificial candles and to go for beeswax candles.
8. VOC(volatile organic compounds) Paint
As per EPA, paints, varnishes, waxes and other cleaning products contain cancer causing VOC. These chemicals can be converted into carbon monoxide in the body.
