Get Creative: Wasabi Salmon Burgers
Are you feeling creative? Run to the kitchen and let the party begin, this recipe is delicious and healthy, so much to love in the combination of Japanese flavors , salmon and ginger along with sesame oil and wasabi, sounds pretty good, right? Follow this wonderful recipe for great results!
All you need is:
- 2 Tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons wasabi powder (see Note)
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
- 1 pound salmon fillet, skinned (see Tip)
- 2 scallions, finely chopped
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons minced peeled fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
Begin by whisking soy sauce, wasabi powder and honey in a small bowl until smooth.
Chop the salmon into ¼ inch pieces, then transfer into a big bowl, mix and combine with the scallions, egg, ginger and oil, and divide into 4 patties, coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium, add the patties and cook for 5 minutes, turn and cook for 5 more minutes. Pour the wasabi glaze over the patties and cook for 30 seconds.
Serve between two whole-wheat buns and accompany with salad of greens, carrots, radishes and sprouts. Your family will thank you!
