Sausage Gravy

Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 2 (12 ounce) package maple flavored sausage
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cups whole milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Directions:

  1. Place sausage in a large, deep pan. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown.
  2. Remove sausage with a slotted spoon, leaving the drippings in the pan. Stir in the butter until melted. Add flour, and stir until smooth.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, and cook until light brown.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook until thickened.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and then stir in cooked sausage.
  6. Reduce heat, and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Stir in a little more milk if gravy is still too thick.
