Apple Crisps Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3 tbsp finely chopped pecans or walnuts
4 tbsp sugar, divided
2 tbsp dark brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
pinch of salt
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
3 large, tart, crisp apples
2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F. Peel apples and cut into 1-inch chunks, eliminating cores. Immediately mix with lemon juice in a medium bowl to stop the apples from browning. Add 2 Tbsp. sugar and mix until apples are coated. Set aside.
Step 2
Make topping: In another medium bowl, Mix together flour, nuts, 2 Tbsp. sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add melted butter and stir until combined and resembles crumb.
Step 3
Place 4 mid sized ramekins on a baking sheet. Divide apple chunks evenly among ramekins.
Step 4
Top each with equal amounts of topping mixture.
Step 5
Place baking sheet with ramekins in oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until topping is browned and apples are tender.
