Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe
2 cups white refined sugar
6-7 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoon heavy cream
1 pinch kosher salt to taste
Place sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan set over medium-high heat. Stir continuously until sugar begins to melt, darken and all the chunks are dissolved. Remove from heat and wait 30 seconds.
Add in butter until melted and mix with the melted sugar. Add heavy cream,slowly and carefuly because it can bubble over. Add salt and stir. Transfer sauce to a jar and cool completely before refrigerating.
